Each player is dealt five cards. The cards are arranged in one or more betting intervals according to the rules of the specific variant being played. A winning hand consists of five cards of equal rank and suit. The highest of these hands is a royal flush, consisting of an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of the same suit. A straight consists of five cards of consecutive rank, but of different suits, and a three of a kind is made up of 3 matching cards of the same rank. Two pair is made up of two cards of the same rank, and another unmatched card. The high card breaks ties.
